Sebofon believes that professionalising the ECD sector will depend on the availability of skilled and adequately trained ECD practitioners. The participation of ECD practitioners in ongoing professional development is essential for ensuring high-quality care and education for young children. Continuous training helps practitioners stay updated with the latest research, teaching strategies, and child development practices, enabling them to create nurturing and stimulating learning environments. It also instils a culture of reflective practice, encouraging ECD professionals to assess and improve their approaches. Ultimately, professional development empowers practitioners to support each child’s holistic development more effectively, laying a strong foundation for lifelong learning.

Improving the lives of children

Sebofon NPC is a specialist in early childhood development (ECD) organisation that provides socio-educational support and interventions for children aged 0 to 9 years. Over the past five years, we have been actively involved in programmes dedicated to enhancing ECD services for young children and their families in the rural communities of KwaZulu-Natal and Mpumalanga
